1. Purpose
This Account Deletion Policy explains how users can request deletion of their EnzoChat account, what happens after a deletion request is submitted, and how long related data may remain on our systems.
2. Requesting Deletion
You may request deletion of your account by contacting us by email or through the web form provided on our website. We may require verification to confirm that the request came from the account holder or an authorized person acting on behalf of the account holder.
3. What Happens After a Deletion Request
Once we receive a valid deletion request, we may take the following steps:
- Verify the request to prevent unauthorized changes.
- Deactivate the account or place it into a deletion-processing state.
- Schedule the associated account data for removal.
- Remove or anonymize personal data where appropriate.
- Retain only those records that must be kept for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
4. Deletion Timeline
In general, account data is deleted within 30 days after a valid deletion request is processed, unless a longer retention period is required by law or for safety, fraud prevention, investigation, or preservation purposes.
Some information may remain in backups, logs, caches, or legal preservation systems for a limited period before final removal.
5. What May Be Deleted
Depending on the system and legal requirements, deletion may include:
- Profile data (username, display name, avatar).
- Account settings and configurations.
- Associated personal information (email details).
- User-generated content tied to the account (posts, stories).
- Non-required technical records.
- Stored encrypted message data that is no longer needed for delivery.
6. What May Be Retained
We may retain certain information longer where necessary for:
- Legal compliance and statutory requests.
- Fraud prevention and security monitoring.
- Abuse or safety investigations.
- Dispute resolution and legal defense.
- Preservation of evidence.
- Enforcement of platform policies.
- Backup integrity and system recovery.
This may include logs, metadata, grievance records, or limited account records.
7. Irreversibility
Once an account has been fully deleted, the process may be irreversible. Deleted data may not be recoverable after final removal.
